Our Professors have been recognized as Research Supervisors by various Universities in India. Active research is going on in the fields of Data Mining & Networking. The focus areas of the Department for R&D activities are primarily Software Engineering, Data Mining, Networking & Client Server Technology, Cryptography & Network Security, High Performance Computing and Embedded systems. An R&D Center has been established in the department to take up research projects and also to cater to the needs of faculty, who are carrying out their research work. Students are also involved in the research activities with the faculty. In addition, the faculty is executing R&D projects funded by external agencies as part of project works for final year students. The faculty to its credit has more than 400 papers published in different International/National journals and conferences.

A significant number of the faculty are attending conferences/workshops etc., to enhance their quality in academics and to get themselves acquainted with latest technological trends. The faculty is also deputed to Industrial training during semester break of the academic year. Faculty members are also invited to deliver extension lectures by the different industries. MOU’s are signed with various industries in Hyderabad and Chennai. The CSE department has an academic tie-up with PGRR Centre for Distance Education (PGRRCDE), Osmania University, Hyderabad and University of Cincinnati, USA etc., to establish the Industry-Institution interaction for arranging industrial visits, to take up live projects, offer training to the faculty and student exchange programmes.

At the beginning of each academic year Teacher Training Program is organized to train the newly recruited faculty with less than 5 years of experience. During this program, senior professors will deliver model lectures, with an emphasis on techniques to deliver lectures effectively. In addition, Technical Teacher Training Institute (TTTI), Chennai has conducted a series of lectures as part of training program to the faculty members.

A major syllabus revision will take place periodically emphasizing on contemporary technologies and job oriented courses. Senior faculties from all specializations are involved in framing and finalizing the syllabus.

Lesson plans are made available in the college website before the beginning of each semester for all courses. Course files and lab handouts are given to the students to get the overall idea about the course they are going to study. Electronic teaching methods such as powerpoint presentation is being extensively used in addition to lecture method. An exclusive counseling class is included in the time-table in which each faculty is allotted 20 students. Students are counselled in both academic and personal problems.
