BA-IAS

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) with integrated IAS (UPSC exams) coaching program is designed for students who aspire to prepare for competitive examinations like UPSC Civil services. It is also useful to the students who have interest in social sciences and who intend to pursue further studies and academic research in these areas. The program is expected to attract students not only from traditional Arts groups but also from commerce and science groups who have desire in competitive examinations.

Aim

The aim of the course is to provide a nurturing environment for development of healthy personality of students and acquire the expertise to crack the competitive exams like UPSC and State Services.


Objectives

After completing the course the student will be able to:

  • Acquire strong foundation in the basics of general studies for competitive exams like IAS/APPSC Groups, along with graduation degree
  • Inculcate competitive spirit, hard work, integrity and ethical behavior
  • Develop communication, analytical, decision making, leadership, problem solving and human relation skills
  • Apply basic computer skills
  • Acquire knowledge on basic terminology and theories prevalent across disciplines
  • Apply the methods and theories of social science to contemporary social, economic and administrative issues
PEO1 A. Graduate will be able to exhibits their skills in Literature and diverse literary works.
PEO2 B. A graduate student able to analyze the aspects of History, Geography, Public Administration and Economy
PEO3 C. Graduate will be to apply knowledge, information and research skills to complex problems in the field of Social Science and Humanities.
PO1 Provide knowledge and understanding of various fields of study in core disciplines in the Humanities and social sciences
PO2 Develop critical and analytical skills to identify and resolve of problems with in complex changing social, linguistic and literary context.
PO3 Understanding the general concepts and principles of selected areas of study outside core disciplines of the Humanities, Social Science and Languages
PO4 Follow independence in learning appropriate theories and methodologies with intellectual honesty and an understanding of ethical and human values
PO5 Encourage students to analyze the problems and apply this knowledge for remedies thereof
PO6 Enhance student’s skills of effective communication and language learning i.e. reading, writing, listing and speaking another language with fluency and understand its cultural value.
PO7 Become well informed and updated member of the community and responsible citizen
PO8 Work with self esteem, self reliance, self reflection and creativity to face adversities in the work and personal life
PSO1 Inculcate leadership and administrative abilities for their future career
PSO2 Increase inclination for higher studies and research in social sciences.
PSO3 Gain comprehensive knowledge to succeed in competitive examinations
PSO4 Enhance their knowledge to communicate effectively to understand the problems of Society and solve the societal problems
